The Assembly is a group of students who volunteer their time to meet and discuss issues affecting students in the region. We consist of officers and representatives from the region, as well as a member of the Executive Committee.

Lorraine AdamsThe Central Executive Committee Member for Southern Europe is Lorraine Adams: I have been studying with the OU since 1999, gaining a BSc (Hons) in Social Science with Psychological Studies and Sociology, and in 2012 I’ll be starting on my dissertation to finish my MSc in Social Research Methods. I live in Greece and have been involved with OUSA for the last 5 years, holding the post of Chair of OUSA Greece for those years, and a member of the Southern Europe Assembly since last year. After attending my first Conference I decided to become even more involved and became a Central Representative and have been on several OU Committees. I would like to be able to represent the views of students in Southern Europe, and to do that I need feedback from students, so please contact me with any ideas, suggestions or queries. contact Lorraine

Greece
Meetings are held at KLEOS S.A, 22 Vas. Konstantinou Ave, (5th floor), Pagrati, Athens
It is between the Kallimarmaro Stadium and the National Research Centre and can be easily accessed either by any bus/trolley going to Pagrati or the Metro Station (Evagelismos).
We welcome all members and would appreciate any comments or ideas on how to improve our website, or any other aspect of being an OU student in Greece. For those unable to attend meetings but would like to contribute ideas, or if anyone needs clarification or information, please contact the Chair, Lorraine Adams. Branch meetings aren’t just stuffy business meetings; they have a strong element of social interaction too. They’re where you get your say on all aspects of your Association, and also a fantastic way to meet local people who truly understand what that distance learning thing is all about!

Swiss German
As you might wonder why it’s so important to have an active branch and what it is doing for you, well, that depends on you first of all. We are organising a social event on the last Saturday of every month in a variety of locations, writing four newsletters a year – all to connect the OU students in the German part of Switzerland – and we also try to represent you in the OUSA organisation. The details of all social events have still to be organised. If you would like to find a nice restaurant, a pub or another nice place to be, please feel free to get in touch with Susanne. We can organise the event together and I’ll send the details out to our branch members on First Class.
